Our Commitment

Our Editorial Promise

At Premom, we know that searching for answers about your cycle, ovulation, or fertility can feel overwhelming. A single online search can return conflicting advice, anxiety-inducing claims, and information that simply doesn’t fit your context.

Our promise is straightforward: every piece of content we publish is designed to help you understand your body better and make informed choices with confidence. We lead with science, write with empathy, and never mistake complexity for credibility.

This page explains how we create our content, who reviews it, and the standards we hold ourselves to, so you always know what’s behind the information you’re reading.

Our Process

How We Create Our Content

Every article, calculator explainer, email, and educational resource published under the Premom name follows a structured process. Content moves through multiple stages of writing, review, and verification before it reaches you.

Topic selection and research

We identify topics based on what our community is asking, gaps in publicly available information, and areas where misinformation tends to circulate. Each piece begins with a research phase that draws on current scientific literature, established clinical guidelines, and trusted public health resources.

Writing

Drafts are written by experienced health and wellness writers familiar with fertility, menstrual health, and reproductive science. Writers are briefed on Premom’s voice and editorial standards, including our commitment to plain-language explanations of complex science.

Editorial review

Every draft is reviewed by our in-house editorial team for clarity, factual consistency, structure, and adherence to our voice and tone guidelines. Editors check that complex concepts are explained accessibly without sacrificing accuracy.

Medical review

Where content includes health, fertility, or clinical claims, it is reviewed by a qualified medical professional whose expertise aligns with the topic. Reviewers verify that the information is consistent with current evidence and clinical understanding.

Compliance review

Before publication, content is checked against our compliance standards to ensure claims are appropriately framed, sourced, and free of absolute or unverifiable language.

Publication and monitoring

Once live, content enters our ongoing review cycle, where it is periodically re-evaluated against the latest research and guidance.

References & Evidence

Our Sourcing Standards

Premom’s content is grounded in credible, verifiable sources. We rely on:

Peer-reviewed scientific journals

Including publications indexed by PubMed, The Lancet, Human Reproduction, Fertility and Sterility, and the British Medical Journal.

Clinical and professional guidelines

Including those issued by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI).

Public health authorities

Including the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Academic and medical textbooks

Including standard references in obstetrics, gynaecology, and reproductive endocrinology.

Wherever a scientific or clinical claim is made, we cite the source directly within the article. This allows you to read the original research, evaluate the evidence yourself, and explore topics in greater depth if you wish.

We do not rely on anonymous sources, unverified blog posts, or social media claims as primary evidence. Where we reference statistics, study findings, or guidelines, we link to the original publication or its authoritative summary.

Expert Oversight

Our Medical and Scientific Review Process

Premom’s content is reviewed by an independent panel of qualified medical and scientific experts. Reviewers are selected for their clinical experience, academic credentials, and demonstrated expertise in fields relevant to reproductive and menstrual health, including obstetrics and gynaecology, reproductive endocrinology, fertility medicine, and clinical nutrition.

Reviewers do not write the content themselves. Their role is to verify that medical and scientific information is accurate, consistent with current evidence, and clearly communicated. If a reviewer flags a concern, the content returns to the editorial team for revision before publication.

Articles that have completed medical review carry a visible note indicating who reviewed the content and when. This allows you to see the credentials behind the information you are reading.

For content covering rapidly evolving areas of fertility science, we schedule periodic re-reviews to ensure information remains aligned with current understanding.

Responsible Communication

How We Approach Health Claims

Fertility and menstrual health involve real biological variability. No two cycles are identical, and no single tool, test, or method works the same way for everyone. We reflect this reality in how we write.

We use probabilistic language.

When discussing ovulation prediction, cycle tracking, or test outcomes, we describe what tools can help estimate, indicate, or support, not what they guarantee. Phrases like “can help identify” or “may increase the likelihood of” reflect the science honestly.

We avoid absolute and superlative claims.

We do not describe any product, including our own, using words like “best,” “most accurate,” “guaranteed,” or “#1.” Where comparisons are made, they are specific, sourced, and verifiable.

We do not make medical efficacy claims.

Our content is educational. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. We consistently encourage users to consult a qualified healthcare professional for personal medical guidance.

We separate evidence from opinion.

Where scientific consensus is strong, we say so. Where evidence is emerging or contested, we say that too. We do not present preliminary findings as established facts.

Staying Current

Corrections, Updates, and Living Content

Science evolves. Clinical guidelines are revised. Newer studies sometimes overturn older conclusions. We take this seriously.

Routine audits

Our editorial and medical review teams revisit existing content on a recurring schedule to verify that information remains current.

Triggered updates

When new clinical guidelines are issued, when significant new research is published, or when readers flag potential inaccuracies, we re-review the relevant content immediately.

Visible update dates

Articles display the date they were originally published and the date of their most recent update or medical review, so you can see how current the information is.

Corrections

If a factual error is identified after publication, we correct it promptly and add a clearly labelled correction note at the top or bottom of the article, explaining what was changed and when. We believe transparency about mistakes is part of being trustworthy.

If you spot something that looks inaccurate or outdated, we want to hear from you. You can reach our editorial team at india.support@premom.com.

Technology & Accountability

Our Policy on AI-Generated Content

Premom’s content is written and reviewed by people. We do not publish articles generated entirely by AI tools.

AI may be used by our team in limited, supporting ways, for example, to assist with initial research, to suggest outlines, or to support translation between English and Indian languages. In every case, the final content is written, edited, fact-checked, and approved by human writers and reviewers. Where AI assists with translation into regional languages, a fluent human reviewer verifies accuracy and cultural appropriateness before publication.

We believe health content, particularly content touching on fertility, reproductive health, and pregnancy, requires human judgment, lived understanding, and accountability. That responsibility cannot be delegated to an algorithm.

Our Approach

Writing with Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusivity

Premom is built for an Indian audience, and we recognise that reproductive health in India carries layers of social context that generic global content often misses. Fertility journeys here are frequently navigated alongside family expectations, cultural beliefs, and varying levels of access to information and care.

We write without judgment.

Whether you are tracking your first cycle, trying to conceive, navigating irregular periods, or simply curious about your body, our content is written to inform and not to shame or scare.

We use accessible language.

Our content is written at a reading level that prioritises clarity for a broad audience. Medical terms are explained when first used. Where regional language adaptations are available, we follow the same editorial standards across languages.

We use inclusive framing.

Menstrual and fertility health concerns people of varied identities and life circumstances. While much of our content addresses women, who make up the majority of our community, we aim for language that does not exclude anyone who finds the information relevant to their health.

We respect privacy and emotional sensitivity.

Topics like infertility, pregnancy loss, and irregular cycles are often experienced privately and painfully. We approach these topics with care, providing information without sensationalism.

Our writers, editors, and medical reviewers are expected to disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Where a conflict exists, the individual recuses themselves from that piece of content.
